chickencam Posted September 30, 2008 Share Posted September 30, 2008 Sometimes eggs have a little blood streaked on the shell, it comes from breakage of a small blood vessel. One of my hens lays eggs with blood on them occasionally, it is worth having a quick peek at her vent just to make sure that all looks normal because they can sometimes have a prolapse which would need immediate attention as it can lead to serious injury through the others pecking at it but these are fairly rare. hopefully all is well and you have many more eggs to look forward too Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
