Wobbly Chook

Recommended Posts

Opened up the eglu this morning expecting the normal rush out but only 3 came. The other two stayed put. Dolly is always last out nowadays (she has a limp and isn't herself) but Chico, who always comes out stayed sitting inside.

She eventually came out but was wobbly, her legs seemed to give way underneath her. Her tail was down and she wasn't her normal self. She did run away when I went to pick her up though. I gave her a cuddle and checked her all over, but could see nothing wrong.

She has been eating her pellets etc, apart from this morning, hopefully she will during the day - I'm at work so can't check on her. They all have acv in their water, limestone flour added to their tea, greens etc and have been recently wormed. She has a lovely red comb/wattles.

Any ideas what could be causing this wobble?

Thanks

Karen

She might have a sore foot? I know one of ours managed to trap her foot under a fence once (heaven knows how!) and for a couple of weeks after had a real limp - but she was eating and drinking normally and otherwise seemed fine.

Do you think that she is eggbound? or perhaps "producing" a soft shelled egg - that can make them feel pretty pants.
