The Aga is being fitted tomorrow, but probably won't be ready until Wednesday to cook on. I need help on what I can cook until then. Last night I cooked a ready made lasagne in the Microwave, and it was depressing ! Luckily I was able to cook lovely chips in my trusty Actifry so dinner wasn't a complete loss.

 

Please does anyone have any idea of how I can sustain me and hubby on a microwave, Actifry and electric steamer for four days? Help, please!

There are some lovely recipes in the Actifry book. If he takes you out one night, he should manage.

You could steam some veggies, microwave some curry sauce - mix together, microwave some rice and chappatti's - veg curry is lovely

Tried the sausage and bean recipe in the Actifry. Wasn't brilliant, really. The onions needed much longer to soften and the whole thing tasted like it hadn't had long enough to flavour. Think I'll keep it for chips in future, worth it just for that!

 

Salmon, new potatoes and green beans in the steamer tonight, so at least that's simple!

Carl uses ours all the time for sausages - haven't tried the recipe with onions though. What a shame.

Have you noticed how much sausages shrink in the Actifry though? I did 968g of chips in it last week, when the were cooked they weighed 376g! That is some shrinkage!

I always use my Actifry for sausages now....the chaps say they taste much better, and are cooked through, not cremated on the outside and raw in the middle.
