Layla has laid softies from the start, we have added oyster shell and now limestone flour but they are still soft.

 

Today she emerged from the eglu with a broken softie protruding from her vent, i gave it a gentle tug to remove it.

 

Is there anything else i should do?

 

The egg had clearly broken inside her, as she passed some more shell with her droppings.

You could try giving her a vit D supplement a which would increase the absorption and utilisation of calcium. I give my girls Cod Liver Oil.

 

Or you could try ZolcalD which is a calcium and vit D supplement combined.
