I was wondering if anyone knew if it was safe for my chickens to eat the mushrooms that are growing in my lawn. The turf is only 2 years old and I believe they use some sort of fungal fertiliser on it when they grow it and that produces quite a few mushrooms this time of year. Any advice greatly appreciated

I find that my girls completely ignore them.

 

They tend to sense what might be dangerous.

 

If in doubt however, best not to let them near.

I have found a few mushrooms on my lawn, I wasn't sure about them so removed them to be on the safe side.
