Hi, Just went to my local equine shop that sells chicken feed and bedding etc. I asked the lady if they had hemcore and she suggested Eco flax. Does anyone know if this is the same thing as i have never heard of this eco flax before.

Not heard of eco flax before but I use Flax which is cheaper and just as absorbent. The only problem I have with it is it's ,much more lightweight and so when it's dry (not much problem there at the minute!) it does blow about a bit more to start with. But I've been using it as a cheaper alternative and it's fine

I use flax as well. It composts more easily than Hemcore or Aubiose. It's very absorbent and keeps the chooks nice and clean
