SusieQ
Hi - bit of a newbie here, 1st time I've ever posted anything on the internet, so here goes. Got my Eglu and chooks mid-September, 2 Gingernut Rangers (Pippa Stripe & Henny Penny) and one Mrs Pepperpot (Polly Peck). After 3 weeks Polly did the squatting business and her comb went big and red and we got an egg for 2 days running , then nothing for 2 days. I then found 3 soft eggs in the droppings tray. Since then I have had one egg nearly every day and have spotted Polly in the nesting box occasionally (seems to lay about 12.30pm). I wondered if they could be taking it in turns to lay, as the eggs are a bit different in size, shape and colour occasionally. Getting a bit concerned that the Gingernuts aren't going to lay, they just aren't as tame or confident. Their combs aren't very red, nor do they squat. Is it worth worming them or should I be patient? The 1st day I get 2 eggs I shall be so excited!
Scottie
Don't worry - they will lay in their own time. We have two we've had since May and they still haven't laid yet! Don't give up hoping! Sheila
Ain't Nobody Here
Welcome to the forum, SusieQ . Can't help with your egg mystery - the only way you'll know is when the others start laying too . Don't worry, it will happen - some time .
