SnowWhite
My OH has a friend who is incubating some duck eggs. He has a garden that lead on to a river and is taken by the idea of raising his own ducks. Last night OH tells me that his friend has been given a method of sexing the ducklings once hatched. It sounds a little far fetched to me so I thought I'd put it to the experts! Apparently, if you pick up a duckling by it's legs and hang it upside down, a female will make a fuss while a male will not? I'm interested as I am also planning to keep ducks for eggs in the near future.
Lesley
I have heard similar over on the Practical Poultry forum - but not sure how true it is I just wait to see which ones develop curly tail feathers There will be a wealth of information on the Practical Poultry forum for duck-keepers, it's worth having a look.
