odd*socks
Hi I got my five chickens a two weeks ago on Sunday although one of the and am loving them, (mattie ) seems a bit left out, and has a red patch near her vent but i put that down to moulting. So i went out to see them this morning and noticed that one of her toes is bleeding, I'm not sure how she did it or if another chicken did it? what should I do? ella Ginger Duchess Maud Gerwyn Mattie Talulah Blanche
ChrisP
Try to see if it is coming from her vent, or if her foot is damaged. If it is her toe, and is still bleeding, try to wash it, or clean it, and keep an eye on it. If it looks really bad you could take her to the vets to make sure she's ok? Chances are she's been scratching around and her nail has come off I'm sure there is better advice out there, but this is what I would do. Hope she's ok Edited - didn't read your post properly! Egluntyne
If her she has torn her nail. rubbing soap on it will stop the bleeding, surprisingly.
