bethany
With the weather getting colder and colder I've invested in buying a snugglesafe heatpad for my pet rabbits and they absoloutely adore it- to the point of trying to groom it and getting excited when I put it in their hutch. So if anyone else is considering getting one, it's well worth the money.
clootie
Tell me more please Bethany. My little boy seems to sit outside all the time and I'm worried about how cold it's getting. He has a cosy rablu and does spend time in there but he looks all huddled and cold when he's outside and he has a habit of sitting directly under the glug. So I'm very keen to hear more about this marvellous heatpad idea.
Hockeyaholic
Yes do tell more please. I've heard of these heat pad things and wanted to get one for my girls but was worried they'd chew it and it would make them poorly.
pelicano
I used to use one of these when I had outdoor bunnies. I would heat it up then hide it under lots of hay (so they didn't get too hot). They are solid inside, therefore they are pretty much ungnawable. I used to either wrap it up in a towel or use the cover that came with it. bethany
sorry for such a late reply. Yes, they are virtually un-gnawable and you can get them from all over the internet, as I did, but you can also get them from shops like Pets at Home. I got mine cheaper though from a website called Vet UK. They chewed off the cover straight away but now I just keep it under a towel to stop them getting too hot. The only problem is they have somehow carried it into the run, pulled it under the cardboard box I put in there and now they seem to prefer to sleep in that. It's kind of worrying that they'd rather sleep under a cardboard box than in the eglu but at least they like the heatpad. I suppose it shows how warm they are with it.
