mostin
Girls all looked fine this morning, unusually large egg from Shirley though. Wonder if it might be our first double yolker .
Guest
Last Tuesday was Diwali which is a massive event in this neighbourhood, much much bigger than any Bonfire Night I have ever experienced1 My girls were fine, laying as usual on Wednesday. koo2cat
I am praying for torential rain on bonfire night so no one can let any off round here as I am very worried about our chickens, rabbits and cats!
Carol U
I worried about mine last November (their first introduction to fireworks) but although I was a nervous wreck after every bang, the girls were supremely unconcerned and didn't appear to notice! Hen Watch
My lot didn't bat an eyelid last year but did produce a few "oohh what was that" shaped torpedo eggs. Be lucky if they do this year as they are on egg laying strike.
little jerry
My local newspaper advises to bring all animals in outdoor hutches indoors while the fireworks are going on and have some music on to dull the sound of the banging. I suppose this could be difficult if you have alot of chickens.Might bring my 2 in to the kitchen. They love this anyway. We live in a built up area and our neighbours have fireworks. Our cat and dog dont get upset by the fireworks, so hopefully the chickens wont either.
