alison
Help! I can see that something has been burrowing under my fox proof netting of my flytesofancy protection pen. I have got slabs on top of the wire on the outside and some on the inside as well, but there is evidence of burrowing in at least 4 places. Is this rats? I can't put traps down as I have three Burmese cats. All help and advice gratefully received. Thank you
Hen Watch
Hi Alison, have you seen the info Egluntine supplied that's in the FAQ section (Chickens section of FAQ)?? viewtopic.php?f=42&t=25900&view=unread#unread
Louisdog
We tried rat traps (live catch and dead) with no luck, the problem got quite bad, so we switched to pison. We bought a bait box for about £11 from Countrywide and some TomCat poison blocks for about £18, the bait fits on a spike in the baitbox so only rats can get at it, no birds/cats etc can. We saw the bait was eaten after a few days, and rat sightings and burrowing activity tailed off. We also took the food away at night so they would eat the poison instead.
