pasq
Hi All -Still having no eggs (Ginger & Pepper stopped laying August time), they have been in a thorough moult. Although their feathers look ok now... Is this a long time to be without any eggs at all?? They are also pooing in the nest box now!! They are both about 3 and half yrs old...... Anyone else been without eggs for months? Pasq
MadMitch
I still have one who hasn't started yet and she is now 35 weeks.
Leicester_H
Yes - Boo seems to have given up - only 18/20 months old. Has just moulted but her comb has really shrunk so I think she may not start again. Chikki is back to laying a few times a week (often soft shelled at present) but I hope she will return to normal laying duties soon. helenmb
Are they hybrids? I have found in the past that they sometimes go into 'retirement' when they get to about 3 ish (hybrids that is). You may just find that they lay the odd egg but nothing like they used to do. I assume you have done all the usual things eg reduce treats so they get their full quota of balanced nutrition, wormed them, checked for mites etc? If they are free ranging they sometimes lay under a bush too (just a thought). Sure you have all of these covered but just thought I'd mention them in case not.
