stoice
Had a lovely weekend the other week. I'd booked off friday off work as a friend of my OH was getting married. We stayed in a nice hotel in Knutsford (Nice town, lovely venue too). Without thinking, the next morning, I ordered a full english. Everything looked fine until i noticed the, well i THINK it was supposed to be, scrambled egg. The palest insipid creamy yellow colour I've seen in a long time. I ate the tiniest piece to test it's flavour. None what so ever. Clearly a battery hen had suffered to produce such a sad and tasteless offering. It put me off the rest of my fry. I just had the remaining toast and coffee instead and had a very sad feeling. (Which may or may not have been a hangover! ) I instantly missed my girls. I always ate free range eggs anyway but there's nothing like a freshly laid gem from a happy hen. (Got another 4 egg day when i got home, made me feel so guilty - almost like they knew ) So I treated them to some sweetcorn and some spaghetti. At least 2 ex battery hens are sleeping well tonight. Egluntyne
Did you try to persuade the manager to upgrade to free range eggs?
stoice
Only seemed to have weekend staff on, no manager about. The sausages and bacon wasn't much cop either. Shame.
