4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Hi,

I have recently hatched 8 quail, two of which have now died. They were born on Friday, and one died yesterday and one this morning. One of them have got bright yellow poo, does anyone know anything?

All help appreciated.

I wouldnt worry about the poo colour to be honest. Its within their normal range.

Quail are fickle creatures and its not unknown for some to not survive long after the hatch.

Thank you. Since i wrote earlier message another has died. We put the chick crumbs that they are eating through the blender (we think they were a bit big) and they have not stopped eating for ten minutes.

is there coccidosant in the chick crumb? This MIGHT be an issue, but please check rather than take my word, I'm not sure.

Could it be the cold? It's a difficult time fo the year to be hatching, and new littlies need a pretty consistent temperature, although this is more likely to bhe an issue when they're older and exploring more!

All the others seem to be OK. They are on different chick crumbs now.
