josephine77
Hi All, I've been reading some old posts about people knitting jumpers for chooks lacking in the feather department and wondered if anyone could email me a pattern? Agnes is rapidly becoming oven-ready thanks to Winnie's wierd feather eating phase, and I wanted to make something to keep her warm until they grow back. Thanks lots, Jo xxx
Christian
I don't have a pattern I'm afraid Jo, but I thought the general consensus was to not use jumpers for balding hens? As long as they are locked in their house at night and fed well, she should be fine.
Olly
There were mixed views on this, but some people felt the jumpers helped keep them warm. I've never needed them on my chooks, so can't speak personally. I have got the pattern, if you still want it, then pm me with your email address and I can send it to you. josephine77
Thanks both for your responses. Yes, there do seem to be mixed reviews on the subject - however I can't help thinking that it's the feathers that keep the birds warm, so without them, in freezing temperatures surely they've got to be cold? I'll keep an eye on her for the nex few days and see how she's bearing up Olly I have pm'd you my email address just in case I need to go down the jumper route. Thanks, J xxx
