Poached Posted December 8, 2008 Share Posted December 8, 2008 hi september 2 years ago i got my 3 hens 2 and 1 amber star they were 16 weeks old when we got them and we caught the chicken bug and got 2 more then early summer they stopped laying they have been fed organic food and grit everyday why do you think they stopped or am i being greedy for eggs josh Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Egluntyne Posted December 9, 2008 Share Posted December 9, 2008 Have you checked them for lice and mites and wormed them? Are they free ranging? Maybe they are laying in the garden somewhere? Maybe they are free ranging too early in the day and not eating enough pellets. Are they having too many treats? Why not worm them and treat for lice and mites if you find any evidence, and then confine them to the run , with only pellets and water for a few days? It might kick start them again.
