pasq
I noticed yesterday (i'm at work in week), so 1st chance to see chickens. Noticed that ginger was hunched? Just about walking... neither of then have layed eggs since August now. Read on web site she could have an impacted crop?? When she does walk it's like a duck! (hunched like & unhappy-no energy) They eat good layers pellets, even tried poultry spice this morning.... Is this serious? I actually took her to the vets couple weeks back as she was hobbling- a dodgy foot -this seem ok now. unless was that part of it? Any suggestions? She's managed to hobble in the nesing box now -must be in pain? Pasq
chelsea
I would always 1st eliminate any beasties - lice on the hen etc. Has she been wormed recently - hunching is a sign of worms. You say she walks like a duck....is she swollen below the vent/fluid build up? or has a red bum area?....the reason I ask is that our old gal Ella has sterile peronitis and waddles like John Wayne. Egluntyne
Same with my Dixie Chick. It might be worth taking her back to the vet.
