hi there, well I found a major flaw with my removable floor,excuse the pun, it's made from a disused pallet, however the slits are slightly larger than some eggs, so I found two this morning, when cleaning that had slipped through the gaps, I gave them the water test, then washed off all the bits that had fallen onto them, live and learn.

you could try nailing some chicken wire to the underneath of the floor...

Perhaps stuff some newspaper between the larger slits?
