Well after saying today that Ella would not lay until we are away for Christmas - she had to prove me wrong!

 

I did a full clean today and with a clean nest box Ella went in to investigate and with a little noise and encourgement from Sam, Ella has laid her first egg of 44g. 9 weeks and a day but well worth the wait.

 

It's pale compared to Sam's eggs with white specks - well done my lovely!

Personally I can't belive the egg colour with the white specks - it tasted good too! Is this normal colour for a ?

My Opal lays generic beige eggs but Ruby does lay eggs with speckles, just not all over the egg. The end of the egg looks 'paint splashed'

I have to say Ella's eggs now are alot darker and it now very hard to tell them apart!
