hillfamily Posted December 21, 2008 Share Posted December 21, 2008 I've lived in this house for 13 years and have never ever seen or seen any signs of Mr Foxin the back garden.......until this morning. Got up to let Jack Cat out at 6.30am, turned on the outside light and much to my surprise there was a Fox Not sure who was more surprised.....me or the Fox. It was clearly frightened and was acting as though it didn't know how to get out of the garden - running back and forth trying to find a way out (we have very high fences and only two routes that our cats can get in or out) By the time I had grabbed the torch and got out the back door, it had gone. Nothing like an adrenaline rush to start your day Anyway, I have decided to invest in a fox watch system in the hope that helps to deter its return......so I have 2 questions I've been reading about them on the interent and they don't seem to affect cats.......is that right Where have those of you have them.....bought them Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Also bought the mains adaptor and have installed it with no problem. I hadn't had a problem with foxes before, although my neighbour told me that she saw a fox taking a short cut through her garden at 11am the other Saturday morning when everyone was at home (and my chooks were out free-ranging within a few feet - aagh). I've told the girls that it is their Christmas Present - they were OK with that, just said 'give us more food please' and carried on.... No change there then! I bought mine from Primrose of London, £37.95 with free delivery at the mo, and their service was excellent. A tip - set it up with its back to the run, so that it's triggered by animals going past and not triggered every time the hens move. I've now ordered my foxwatch and power cable from CJ Wildbird Feeds.......spoke to a very nice Lady and asked if there was anyway it could be with me by Christmas. When I explained why, I found I was speaking to a fellow chook keeper (she's now down to her last 2 very old bantams who are enjoying retirement at a leisurely pace :D ) who immediately leapt into action, telephoning the warehouse and telling them that it is a very urgent order that needs to go out today by courier, not royal mail :D The helpfulness of a fellow chook keeper - what a brilliant thing :D Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
