oh these hens been on a dream list and a friend has found, a seller near me who has salmon favourelles.

has anyone got one what is there temperment like to other hens and kids?

what eggs like they lay?

do they go broody?

 

or another advice on them

I am picking one up this Sunday! Also wanted one for ages. They are very docile and layed back.. Reasonable layers (and will lay in winter)- the LF are less likely to go broody than the bantam version and they tolerate handling well and become quite tame.

 

There are a couple of people on here who keep them I believe - glad you have found a breeder near to you and good luck!

 

Just watch them in a mixed flock - they are big softies and may let themselves get bullied!

They are lovely birds, although big softies and in my experience are prone to being bullied as they are so laid back. My Ella had a fantastic personality and loved people.

well we got one and upto now been very vocal, we also got anohter chicken but to sure what it is etc, but my son took pity on her as they called her the mongral.
