Smeg
We've had our 4 girls for a week so decided to let them free range and meet the cats. the chickens all came out quite eagerly and pecked around the lawn and empty veggie patch. cat number 1 (clancy) came out of the catflat and her eyes lit up oooh live chicken dinner - she ran towards one chicken as if she wanted a fight and i was about to panic when the chicken lifted her head and eyeballed the cat the cat then very slowing crouched down and backed away until she was level with the catflap and legged it indoors! later both cats (heidi & clancy) came out and i had my back to the garden cleaning the cube. i heard flapping wings and turned around to see 2 cats running hell for leather for the catflat with our black chicken - dipper in hot persuit once the cats got through the cat flap indoors dipper carried on pecking calmly at the lawn! - very funny. Happy chickens!
It's surprising how the tables are turned sometimes - my 3 cats were the same.... until we let the chickens out, and the cats ran inside with their tails betweent their legs. Not looking forward to the chickens figuring out the cat flap. Please tell me they can't?!
Smeg
Not looking forward to the chickens figuring out the cat flap. Please tell me they can't?! Mine didn't seem interested in the cat flap but did try to get in the door when i went in to make coffee. not sure if they will figure it out though
Larkspurs
Hehe, it's funny you should mention that as we tried introducing the cats to the hens today as well. One cat was in a bit of a strop and wouldn't go out because of the cold... but as soon as the other heard the bok bok noises coming from the run she ran indoors like her life depended on it! Chickvic
They are funny aren't they? My cats soon learnt not to mess with the chickens

Not looking forward to the chickens figuring out the cat flap. Please tell me they can't?! Two of mine have I'm afraid and the other two follow them in to the kitchen. I had to buy one of those expensive cat flaps that work by reading a microchip
