LJ's Chooks
Ok So some people might question me for observancy, but I noticed yesterday that my cream legbar and araucana have both got yellow skin... I spray them and dust them regularly but neither of them like to be handled and i had not noticed it before Can someone set my mind at rest and tell me this is normal .... or abnormal... it just looks really wierd. They both seem healthy. Both are pure breeds so have had a big moult and a break from laying... but it just concerned me.... Can someone please advise.... thanks. I feel an embarassed chicken mummy for not knowing the answer to this one.....
Egluntyne
Probably nothing to worry about. The pigments leach out of their legs etc and into the eggs when they are laying. As they have had a rest, they will have built up again.
LJ's Chooks
thanks Egluntine.... I was worried about a previous thread that talked about liver issues. As OH has pointed out to me they do get sweetcorn most days as their lure to get them back in their Cube run... always works a treat...
