vetty82
Getting a bit excited now we have finally decided to go for it and get these chickens. Just wondering, how long was it from placing your order to the chickens and cube/eglu being delivered? Thanks Vetty
Larkspurs
Welcome to the forums and the world of chickens My cube and two hens were ordered just before christmas as a christmas present and arrived on the 20th January, so I guess approx 28 days. I was suppose to get a Miss Pepperpot and Gingernut Ranger, but the day before they rang to confirm delivery and explained that they had no Miss Pepperpots. Just note they can't guarantee the breed, you maybe lucky. They were very apologetic, but I am more than happy with my two Gingernut Rangers -I wouldn't swap them for anything Dave (Mad about chickens)
Ygerna
I ordered mine last monday and was given an original delivery date of the 18th, but that has since been brought forward to this Friday
Chickvic
I ordered mine and it was delivered 8 days later I think it depends on what time of year as well, there's been a few with cubes and eglus that have turned up quickly.
Guest
Yes, it seems to depend on how many orders there are at the time. If there are any cancellation they will ring up to bring the delivery forward....

SIGH this is why I have a wooden coop and not a cube SIGH My delivery date was put back last summer and with four growing pullets I couldn't wait. I wish I'd had more patience. The trouble is that the coop is so good I haven't an excuse to get a cube (though I do have the money secreted) Perhaps I could set fire to it

I'm just trying to gauge timings and whether to go for it right now or wait a bit until the weather begins to perk up a bit. Currently my garden is still covered in snow, so there's no where for them to go at this precise minute! I notice you are in Derbyshire which is where I am too! So pleased Omlet deliver to this area! Where do you get your supplies for the chickens from round here? Vetty
vetty82
Thanks guys for all your replies, so I guess I'm looking at 2 - 4 weeks depending on supply/demand. Right, thats good - fits in well with finances and hopefully an improvement in weather!! V x
Aggienator
When I ordered mine a little calender came up with available delivery dates - I'm not in the Omlet delivery zone (difficulty getting visas for South Yorkshire), so have been warned by Those Who Know that delivery date may be more of an estimate than I think ! The only thing we are missing is Flubenvet and Red Mite Powder which we'll end up getting online probably. We're not short of layers pellets just yet... I was trying to get some Stalosan F locally to save postage and had a nightmare trying to buy it from http://www.purelypoultry.co.uk, so much so I just gave up trying to give them money and bought it online elsewhere...Ebay as it happens from a seller called karen100000 who happens to be http://www.merrydalepoultry.co.uk <<< That's a place I intend to get a lot of stuff from if I don't find anything closer. The Aubiose we got online too from http://www.ukpetsupplies.co.uk (http://www.ukpetsupplies.com/Details.aspx?ProdId=2685&ParentId=171) as they were one of the cheapest we found for carriage. We were fairly new at this and didn't realise at the time you could call them up at Aubiose and find the nearest stockists 0800 389 1703. http://www.aubiose.co.uk/about.php Next time we're going to try easibed and you can grab the nearest stockist to you here: http://www.easibed.co.uk/stockists.php?action=distance Feel free to drop us a pm if you find any other stockists! We shall do the same. Cheers, John
