Ana's flock
I'm a dyed-in-the-wool hand-knitter and I'd like to have a go at machine knitting (for tiny time-consuming bits where I use number 2 needles). I've never been near a knitting machine other than at St Martin's College in London where I had a half-day session a few years ago and where my yarn got very tangled in a rather large piece of machinery. However I got some interesting effects using fluffy yarn mixed with some very thin fishing acetate yarn and I'd like to experiment some more. Could you please give me some advice about what to get, where from, how much should I expect to pay etc...? I just want to knit stockinette or very plain knitting, with small gauge needles. Other than that the simpler, smaller, and cheaper the better. Thank you Ana

Ana's flock
Thank you Miffy. Well, if it's still working and you want to re-home it please let me know and I'll find out if anyone I know is going to Cornwall in the near futurr or how much would cost to have it courriered... but only if you no longer needed and want to get rid of it... in fact you've given me an idea, I'll put it in the 'I've got a good home' section! Thank you!

Egzandra
I have two knitting machines, both of which I never use, because they take time to set up and remember how to use since the last time! I have made things on them both though. One is a very basic plastic one which knits all different guages. The other is a more sophisticated electronic model that does fairisle. I never got to grips with either of them really, though. It's such a shame. Machine knitting seems to have gone out of fashion now. You never see machine knitting courses at the college.
