Tulip
...who don't get at all excited about laying an egg? I've heard all these stories about chooks shouting when they've laid and all the others join in. But Chive was our first layer, and she doesn't make a peep in the nest box. Now Cinnamon (who's otherwise quite gobby) has started and she doesn't make a sound either! Don't get me wrong, I'm glad not to have to worry about waking the neighbours yet, but are my girls abnormal?!!! T x PS - I have won the skelter battle and placed my order today after pointing out our current egg-holder can't cope with any more laying hens.... Immediately after this pic was taken I had a dippy egg, OH had an omlette and mum and nan arrived demanding omlettes too. The egg basket was soon empty! Chickvic
I think it depends on the chicken - Ruby and Pearl never made a noise and Opal hasn't for ages, she only did it infrequently anyway. Like you said it's good not to have to worry about the neighbours Am very about the egg skelter - I've dropped loads of hints but as it's my birthday next month... Tulip
I hope you've remembered to specify the correct colour in these hints

sandyhas3chucks
my ex softee layer is so darned pleased and made so much noise telling the whole street (at 2.30 pm mind,) that she had produced a good one. that she must be so unused to it, cos she almost lost her voice & croaked the rest of the day
