Concerned (New chickens - 1 with yellow runny droppings)

Recommended Posts

Hello,

We've had our chickens for only 2 days. Fizz the Sweetie is about 15 weeks and seems to be at the bottom of the pecking order. She seems to want to stay in the eglu much more than the other 3 chickens and I've noticed shes doing quite runny yellow/orange droppings. Should I be concerned? I have hung a small feeder of layers pellets need the door to the eglu so she has access to food without going to the grub at the other end of the run if she doesn't want to.

This morning when I let them out there was a very soft egg (broken) in the nest box and another egg (hard) which had got broken and fallen through the plastic bars. I have hung two small feeders with oyster grit and am adding Orego-Stim to their water. I don't suppose I can avoid the eggs getting broken if they are laid when the chickens are closed in really. As they get more mature will they tend to lay during the day more?

Thanks in advance for any advice
