Hi i have 3 ex-bats which i have had since May last year and up until the really cold weather i was getting lots of eggs. Is it becuse of the cold or short days or have they retired

 

not that i mind not having eggs i just wondered

mine have only just started laying since their winter break. Spring/warmer weather usually brings hens into lay so it shouldnt be too long now.

 

How old are they? Do you know? They may have retired

 

Have they been wormed recently? A course of worming might help boost them along if they havent been wormed for a long time.

i wormed them a couple of months back - so i could do that again.

i'm guessing they would have only 'lived' at the battery farm for a year or 18months. So i guess about 2 1/2 years
