cavysqueak
We've been looking in the 'egg port' door of our Eglu anxiously for almost a week.....we've been getting all of the signs, noisy, very hungry chickens. Today I was a bit blaise when I said to my husband -'Shall I check for eggs'. Then I opened the door & there was the sight of (about medium sized I would say - as they were about 65g & 70g, so I was pleased!) I felt like I was looking at a photograph for a second & then it hit me that I was actually looking at our first two eggs! One was in the nest & the other was on the roosting bars just next to the nest, probably a hen stood in the nest & missing the target as the back end was over the nest side! We are not sure which of our three have laid - the looks the least mature, but as the eggs were different colours (one was plain, one was a bit darker with brown speckles on) we did wonder if one was from one of our and one from the . Any suggestions? I was really EGG-cited (Sorry!!), my husband a bit less so! I was repeating 'We've got eggs, we've got eggs' for ages! We boiled them at lunchtime & they were yummy!!! Good luck to everyone who's still waiting.....
