Lesley
Just remove the roosting bars and fill the lower tray with either straw or Aubiose/Hemcore. Make sure they have a container with enough water to swim in and make sure the water is clean - it will need emptying regularly! Happy duck keeping

Lesley
I don't know! - ours were hatched under a duck and she helped them eat small pelletted food from early days. They had crumb in a dish but were in with the others so the other ducks ate the crumb and pellets and so did the little ducklings! I'll have a look in the duck book later. Richard T
Make sure that they can get in and out of the eglu and run OK. Ducks don't cope very well with large steps and could damage their feet and legs. For water in the run we have a plastic under-the-bed-storage crate from Wilkinsons as a swimming pool, a small bowl for them to dunk their heads in for cleaning themselves, as well as a glug for drinking. Of course, all water is filthy within a few seconds and they drink from whichever thing is handiest, so I don't really know why we bother. We also have a couple of rigid plastic sand pits/paddling pools in the garden which we got from a toy shop sale. We've rigged up a ramp with a plank of wood to make access easier. I don't know about the change of feed because our two ducks were pretty grown-up when we got them.
