Electricbarbarella
Ok so I have put Margo out to free range, she is the one who is really bullying flo, flo and daphne seem fine with her out. Problem is I am going out for the day, do i leave Margo out free ranging with all the risks involved, or do I put her in the run and leave flo to be trapped in the house all day? I honestley cant decide which is worse. I have an hour before I am going so plenty of time to decide
Chook n Boo Mum
Do you have a roll of wire you could fashion a pen for her from with a bowl of food & water in, with a kindly neighbour who could look in on her every so often? Or a guinea pig/bunny run maybe - without a guinea pig/bunny inside of course !? A bit of a rock/hard place problem. I don't envy you at all. What size is your eglu run? Could you barricade part of it with garden canes as has been suggested before? At least she'd be safe, if a bit cramped. Sorry, not sure if any of this is any help to you.... Electricbarbarella
I am planning to split the run but I havent had chance yet, i think I will put her back in the run before I go out, at least flo has had a chance to eat and drink something this morning. I put her food in the house but then the others just shoo her out of there as well. I definatlrey think she is getting braver though which has to be a good thing, I suppose the next step is bumper bits or anti peck spray, but they dont actually seem to have to get too close to her, they just chase her. she is avery nervy little thing. Chook n Boo Mum
Poor little mite, send her a hug from her "auntie" Sha! My batties are all very feisty, one especially is taking on my original chooks & winning in the domination stakes. She's also the gobbiest one, but she does crouch so I can cuddle her, so we're getting there! They don't seem to worry about the Orpies, maybe their size is in their favour.... Have a good day out, Sha x
