Chooks Aloud
Is there an anti-inflammatory that you can buy over the counter that can be administered to a chook? Karen
sandyhas3chucks
I am sur someone somewhere said soluble aspirin? Someone as "knows" will be along soon I expect. Metacam is prescribed if you know someone with a cat or dog with arthritis
chelsea
I have used an arnica gel on a hen for a minor leg ailment once.
Christian
Arnica pillules from Holland and Barratt work well. A purple tube dosage 30c not the 6c (?) one. A natural way to reduce bruising and inflammation.
Chooks Aloud
Yes, I've tried arnica, just wondered if there was anything else. When I took Dolly to the vet they injected her with a anti-inflammatory so thought there might be something else to use off the shelf instead of racking up a vet bill, if needed in the future. sandyhas3chucks
As they have already used one, perhaps you could phone and ask for some Metacam to be left out for you?
