We have just reclaimed our garden from our 4 free ranging girls, which left us with what could be described as a blank canvas. We have built a nice BIG!!! pen in which they can free range and we can have our garden. It was only when we looked from the bedroom window did we realise the size. My wife them asked if we could keep quails with the chickens?

I don't think you can but am only guessing thinking of the pecking order. Would the chickens kill the quails?

I'm afraid that the hens will kill the quail.

 

Quail also need to be kept in a run. they can't free range... that's if you really want to see them again. They are veteran escape artists and will head for the hills at the slightest chance.
