Mrs AVP Posted March 31, 2009 Share Posted March 31, 2009 I was getting suspicious as to why my hen wasn't laying eggs so I had a search around the garden this evening and to my surprise there were 8 eggs in a straw nest in the corner of the garden. I have some new hens and they all seem to get on well but I think this maybe the cause of it. Does anyone know the reasons and what I can do to prevent this? Patricia W Posted April 1, 2009 Share Posted April 1, 2009 We have the same problem- my two have spurned the eglu and have made a cosy little nest in a rather inaccessible place in the garden. I tried shutting them in the eglu when I knew they were about to lay - but they simply refused! Held on to them till the next day. So, I've given up.
