A Facebook friends query - long, sorry

Recommended Posts

I registered on Facebook ages ago just to see what it is like. I don't have any friends on there, and mimimal details on my profile. However I did put in my yahoo email address to see what contacts are also on there - quite a lot apparently but mainly because I use my yahoo account for freecycle and all of them appear to be on facebook too!

Anyway, I've had an email today, supposedly from Facebook saying that "X" wants to be my friend, and to click on the link if I accept. I didn't do that but went to the Facebook site to see if anyone was asking to be my friend on there. No-one was, but on the list of "people you might know" was another person I didn't know. I looked at her friends list and noticed that "X" was on there (he has quite a distinctive name) -also both of them are based in Leicester like me.

So my question is, when someone tries to befriend you on FB do you only get an email, or should there be something on your FB site too?

Suspiciously yours!

Hi Chrissie,

When you go onto your facebook page, there is a section on the right hand side saying Requests. Underneath you will see any friend requests. Click on that and it will take you to the list of everyone who has sent you a request.

If I ever get a request from someone that I am not sure of, I just click ignore :D
