Alfred Posted April 9, 2009 Share Posted April 9, 2009 For a compromise, how about rescuing some ex-free range hens? These also go for meat at the end of their first couple of years. That way you are supporting the free range industry. (I have heard some reports that they are in as bad a state as the ex-bats though.) My 3 are very pretty now and full of character.
