2 became 3! northendhens

Recommended Posts

Hi

I went to collect my 2 chickens from www.northendhens.co.uk and went to be really strict to collect one speckledy and one mendelsham blue (aka bluebell type) and ended up with a third (fenning)and nearly a 4th ! I was how many do you think i can squeeze in the box and i did fancy a light sussex too..but resisted they were so nicely marked.um

Thank you so much to the omeleter that recommended northendhens and for anyone that can get to the Bedford area its about 8 mins drive from Bedford Town centre.

Linda the owner was really helpful and the hens are lovely & healthy/vaccinated etc. She checked them over fully before purchase.

So thanks to Linda for your help/advice.

Will def go back again but worth looking up if u need to be purchasing. I just emailed linda initially. We have arrived home and they are my first 3 EVER(my 2 GNR coming next week with the cube) until then they are in the semi WIR and look fine and have had a peck at some corn and layers and already have spotted me through the kitchen doors.

Just wish my cube was here so they are in a converted rabbit house till next tuesday.

I will post some pics once my son can do this for me..I am so pleased with the big beauties!

ps I think i am going to be chasing tonite to put them away......they seem to have found a sunny corner in the run ...

I was just thinking about you and your new chooks!

So.....you did the old "I am only going for two" but came back with three routine!

I had to take Cookie Monster with me when i got my newbies! She ready ready to pull me out of the barn by my hair if necessary! :D

How old are you new girls? What are their names?

Can`t wait for the pics of the chooks and your sure to be impressive squatting WIR :D

Thanks Palmer

At long last i am a chicken person

I dont have any names yet..may name them after anyone that deserves to be a chicken(my old aunties for instance)

I am so pleased and can see why its addictive. The bluebelle i think may be the more confident one out of them all. At the moment they are all on top of each other in the corner. Just came back from dog walking and thought one had escaped but it was buried under its friends

Would recommend northendhens....still fancy some bantams but later on

Thanks

indie

ps I WILL put some pics on the whole lot low WIR and new chickens!

Thanks even my husband suddenly wants to see them..he is discovering a lot of work colleagues with chickens(so he needs to b able to talk the talk)!!!

Well so far so good didnt hear anything from them last night ..the bluebelle is the most inquisitive..will b interesting to see how their personaliites differ!

Am sure the good behaviour may not last...settling in period

I do like them though..keep looking out to spy on them
