chickinboy
Hi all, I found a yolk in the house first thing this morning. My four have been laying for about 3-5 weeks. Is this just a blip whilst the find their feet? There hasn't been anything wrong with any of the other eggs, all with strong shells, and gradually getting bigger. The other thing I was thinking was that if one layed really early in the morning, they may have eaten the shell and white whilst still in the house- but I let them out at 7am, and I've never known them to lay before 10am. Hope this isn't a bad thing.....they all seem perky as ever.
ted
This has happened to me - advice I got was not to worry too much but keep an eye on them. I had a few soft eggs after and one got egg bound. lack of calcium. A boost of lime flour and all back to normal... Should be ok just keep an eye on them... cheers
Egluntyne
It will be just a blip probably as they are quite new to it all.
