Scotty
Hi everybody, We've just collected our 2nd round of ex-bats 4 new ladies all settling in extremly well with the previous 2 (Gerty & Floss). Here's the strange thing... One of the new girls "smaller" than the others (hence her name is Dot) seems to feed from the other hens Mouths? has any body heard of this before??? Its as if she is still a chick... the others seem to protect her from Floss & Gert when they get all high and mighty and they seem to put themselves between the older hens so they can't peck her. I wondered if she might have managed to get muddled up with the older hens and has been release early??? Nice thought don't you think??? Anyway its an unusal sight to watch that's for sure. I'd be keen to know if anybody has seen this type of behaviour before?
feemcg
My chooks do it all the time.....if one had mash all stuck round her beak, another one eats it off......maybe they wonder if they're missing a good bit
