Snowy
Just checking in on this thread - reading some of the posts since I went away has reminded me I would also need to have French maps available so thanks for that. Great advice Shaun thanks
Snowy
OK, more questions! I want to get one from Freemans as I have some comission to spend The choice is the TomTom One XL GB or the TomTom One GB. Neither mentions anything about v3 or v4 and both are GB only. The XL includes TomTom home and is cheaper. If I got that would I be able to add European maps later or would that cost me loads extra? Hi I have had a quick look on the freeman's website at the 2 tomtom units you mention. The difficulty is there is not enough information to be able to best answer your question. Are you able to call them up and ask questions? If so you need to know- How much in built memory do each of them come with? Are either of them able to take an SD card to expand the memory? Don't worry about the fact that one mentions tomtom home and the other doesn't. ALL tomtom's have access to tomtom home as its freely downloadable on their website. Based on what i can see i would choose the XL version as the screen is wider. But if one has a larger memory than the other that would change my opinion. Let me know what you are able to find out and i can help you further. Out of interest i think these are the 2 units in question on the tomtom website. http://www.tomtom.com/products/product.php?ID=878&Category=0&Lid=1 http://www.tomtom.com/products/product.php?ID=880&Category=0&Lid=1 If these are the same then you would need to go for the more expensive one as this shows New map SD cards available in the accessories. Hope this helps somewhat..........
Snowy
Thanks for that Shaun - looks like Freemans would not be the best place to get one from after all. False economy if I then have to shell out for extra maps! Looks like there is a One IQ that includes European maps so will keep my eye out for that one.
