I removed a carpet off the allotment yesterday to find a wasps nest underneath. I was going to plant my pumpkins there but not anymore! Other than marking off the area where the nest is and staying well clear for the rest of the summer, is there anything else I should be doing? I believe wasps move on every year, or is that just wishful thinking on my part?

You can get powder to deal with wasps nests from B&Q. Same stuff that the council charge £40 for.

Thanks Egluntine. I thnk I'll leave them for now, and just avoid that part of the allotment. Will consider extermination if they get to be a problem beyond their immediate nest.
