MickChuck
Maude, our Pepperpot is under the weather. Her eyes appear a little bloodshot and she's started preening right under her tummy and around her vent. She stands still and closes her eyes a lot. We free range the four of them and Maude has today just hidden under a bush whereas the others are scratching away like good'ens. We've brought her in to the aviary for observation. She was Verm-X'ed a few months ago so we'll try again. I found one runny poo in the Eglu but nothing else untowards. We did however find some blood in the Eglu the other day around the egg drop-zone. We took this to be a possible 'backfire' from our new Bluebell who's just stated laying, and there's been no more since then. Any ideas before we do the vet hunting thing? Not sure as to how to check the crop. Mike

Egluntyne
I agree. Forget the Verm_X and worm her with some Flubenvet, available online. I'd check her for lice and mites too and treat accordingly.
sandyhas3chucks
my localish horsey place used to be licenced to sell it but hasn't re licensed but he was saying some scats sell it, and I believe countrywide have pharmacy too. If your vets are ok they sell it too. well some do!
MickChuck
Thanks for all the info. Maude appears to have made a complete recovery by herself. We segregated her for a while and it gave her a chance to pull her socks up. After a few worms she suddenly came to life again I'll look into this Flubenvet stuff though, sounds like it works like a pine tree pull-through

The bigger pot is a huge amount which will do you years or you could ask around on the forum to see if anyone wants to split a pot with you?
