Hi all,

 

One of my chickens (I'm not sure which one) is producing a very runny black tar-like poo. Spotty also appears to have a little cough, although I haven't heard her do it for a couple of days.

 

They all seem well otherwise, running around like demented chucks everytime I pass the window, eating and drinking well.

 

Should I be worried?

Has she eaten something out of the ordinary?

She hasn't eaten anything odd that I can think of. Layers pellets in the mornings and kitchen s"Ooops, word censored!"s in the afternoon as a treat. Nothing different to what they have always had.

Probably nothing to worry about, especially as the cough has settled and they seem otherwise well.

 

Have they been wormed recently? Might be worth doing as a precaution.
