Grand designs show on Sunday AND the Marathon. Help!

Recommended Posts

Can't believe I have been so stupid: I have booked tickets to go to the Grand Designs show at Excel, Docklands this Sunday. Last night it struck me that it is also the London Marathon that day, and the route goes right past.

Two questions for you all:

Who is going too? :)

Any advice on where to park bearing in mind the road carnage which the maraton will cause? (and please don't say Edinborough  ). I will be travelling in from Kent.

It would be lovely to meet up with anyone who is heading that way....

Park near an underground station near home and get the train!

Personally if I were going on Sunday I would park at Elm Park and train.

Luckily I'm going Saturday so I don't have to do public transport!

It's a long shot, but you could check with Excel to see if they think there'll be enough parking space and what the traffic will be like.

But I think Pengy is right. Drive to a suitable station (underground/overground - they're not only there for wombling free, y'know  ) and get the train.
