chixandthecity
Hurrah! We've done it. Got a bumper bit on Blossom, the feather plucker. She was very compliant as it goes, which made me feel quite guilty. It took a few attempts to get it on properly, but we got there in the end. I held Blossom while my OH fitted the bit. She was very subdued afterwards and went to bed quite early. Still a bit fed up today, but in the nest laying at the mo! Hopefully our pecking probs are over! Margalot
Well done, keep an eye on her though to make sure she can eat and drink properly over the next few days. We had to remove one from Ginger as she was struggling to eat (she also has a smaller beak than the rest). Ours were also very subdued after fitting them for the next few days would shake their heads or scratch with their feet. Tinker still has one fitted, but yesterday we noticed Ginger had a go at Midnights bottom. We lost one hen just over a week ago and I think that the pecking order re-shuffle has just started!
