Chickaboo
I have had an ongoing problem with Phoebe laying soft eggs, anyway - she really improved last autumn and has since being laying proper hard shelled eggs However, over the last month she has gone back to softies again Nothing in her diet or anything else has changed. When the softy problem started it was in the spring. Is there any connection do you think, or is it just coincidence? Its very disheartening, as I thought we'd sorted it. Maccbean
Hi Chickaboo I've had my five chickens since last August, all laying since last October. However, our two legbars Marge and Rita have been laying softies for just over a month. We have had about three or four almost hard shelled ones in this time, but every day there is a soft one laid. They have lots of oyster shell on hand and I've wormed them, just in case. But it is soooo frustrating, I want my five eggs back!!!!! Ain't Nobody Here
Same here . I've just finished a bottle of Zolcal D and it seems to have made a bit of a difference - we're at least getting one or two hard eggs a day and far fewer softies. It's so frustrating, isn't it, but at least we're not alone .
