4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Hi another question about my new girls sorry

 

Got them yesterday and the intro is going fairly well the three newbies know my original chook is the boss so they are staying away and she gives them a peck if they get too curious and they run away.

 

Last night I left the cube door open and at 530 Sweet Chili was up squalking so I let her out and kept the others in the run so the neighbours didn't get woken up.

 

Tonight I would like to shut them in the cube but if Sweet Chili wakes up and gets the hump will she attack them which could be messy if they are all shut up together and I don't hear them?

 

Sorry I keep asking questions just a bit of a paranoid chicken mum

I think they are calmer and more tolerant when roosting at night. It's probably one of the few times in the day when they won't attack the newbies (someone correct me if I'm wrong!)

They'll not bother with each other in the cube. It tends to be in the run where the most attacking happens. I'm sure you'll have a better chance with 3 against 1.

Thanks I might try shutting them in tonight and see what happens.

 

This morning Sweet Chili was up boking at 5am and the others hid in the cube till about 830!!

I have not had issues at night, they seem to cuddle up and all squabbles forgotten... you just need to watch them in the run - but the odds are on the side of teh newbies so should be ok. I think that letting the oldie out of the run is a sensible move for a couple of days.
