Ex bat off colour

Recommended Posts

Omar, my ex bat gentle giant who has been with me since Feb is hunched and off colour today and has just taken herself off to bed very early. Wormed last week, no lice, laying softies and no swelllings etc. Any ideas as to what could be wrong and what I can do for her? :?

is she eating and drinking okay? could be another softie on the way, get some calcium into her to help with the egg shells and to help her with pushing the egg out, get some limestone flour, zolcal d or nutrobal.

If it persists for a cple of days and/or she loses her appetite then take her to the vets.

Thanks poet, yes she is eating and drinking fine - of course it is a couple of days before I go away and I don't want to leave someone else to pick up any pieces..will try and get some calcium into her by way of mash and limestone flour. Thanks :)

I gave her a good feel but it's hard to tell as I don't hold them that often. They have all been eating the same stuff and the other 4 are fine....just perplexed...she is certainly not swollen anywhere or hot and her vent looks fine :? Where can I buy Zolcal from?

no improvement this morning - she is not eating though I tried to get her to have some mash and yoghurt with bran....drinking a bit but still hunched. Will see how she is later...a trip to the vet looks in order. :(
