3hens2cats
Hello, Long time no see. Fudge Crumpet seems to have taken up residence in the nest box, only coming out occasionally to eat and drink. If you remove her she looks lost and then runs back in. i have picked her up to check her over and noticed that her breast plumage is particularly lacking and there do seem to be more feathers than usual in the nesting box/droppings tray. Is this normal, is she just going through a malt? Do I need to be worried? thanks in advance Naomi
Snowy
Sounds like shes going broody. Keep turfing her off the nest, dunk in cold water if necessary. If you don't nip it in the bud she will take up residence and be even harder to shift. If they have all laid for the day, could you shut the door to keep her off the nest?
